TfL introduces new fares and discounts for children, young adults, and students
TfL has announced new fares and discounts for children, young adults, and students. The new fares will come into effect on 6 January 2023.
Children aged 5-15 will be able to travel for free on all TfL services, including the Tube, buses, and trams. Young adults aged 16-18 will be able to buy a Young Adult Card, which will give them a 50% discount on all adult fares. Students aged 19-25 will be able to buy a Student Oyster card, which will give them a 30% discount on all adult fares.
The new fares and discounts are designed to make public transport more affordable for young people. The changes will also make it easier for families to travel together.
TfL's Managing Director of Customer Experience, Mark Evers, said: "We are committed to making public transport more affordable for young people. The new fares and discounts will make it easier for young people to get around London and will help families to save money on their travel costs.
