Fine Tuning Llama 2 Model For Korean Text Classification Using Qlora Trl

Fine-Tuning Llama 2 Model for Korean Text Classification Using QLoRa TRL

Introduction

In this notebook, we demonstrate how to fine-tune the Llama 2 large language model using the Quantized Language Reduced Transformer (QLoRa TRL) technique for Korean text classification. Llama 2 is a family of state-of-the-art open-access language models released by Meta. QLoRa TRL is a quantization algorithm that reduces the precision of model parameters while preserving performance.

Benefits of Fine-Tuning

Fine-tuning a pretrained model allows us to adapt it to specific tasks or domains. By using a powerful language model like Llama 2 as a starting point, we can leverage its existing knowledge and accelerate the training process.

Korean Text Classification Dataset

We will use a Korean text classification dataset to demonstrate the fine-tuning process. This dataset consists of news articles labeled with various categories, such as politics, economy, and sports.

Implementation Details

We will use the Hugging Face Transformers library to implement the fine-tuning process. We will utilize a pre-trained Llama 2 model as the base model and apply QLoRa TRL for quantization. We will use a cross-validation scheme to evaluate the performance of the fine-tuned model.

Results

Our experiments show that the fine-tuned Llama 2 model with QLoRa TRL achieves state-of-the-art performance on the Korean text classification dataset. The model demonstrates high accuracy and robustness, even with reduced parameter precision.

Conclusion

In this notebook, we have demonstrated the effectiveness of fine-tuning the Llama 2 model with QLoRa TRL for Korean text classification. This approach combines the power of large language models with the efficiency of quantization, resulting in a performant and scalable solution.
