Bruins, Panthers Set for Game 2 of Second-Round Series
Montour, Verhaeghe Heroics Force Overtime in Game 1
Panthers Win Game 7, Advance to Second Round
The Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers will face off in Game 2 of their second-round series on Thursday night, with the Panthers holding a 1-0 lead after a dramatic Game 1 victory.
Brandon Montour scored with just 59 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime, and Carter Verhaeghe was the overtime hero, scoring just 2:22 into the extra period to give the Panthers the win.
The Bruins will need to find a way to slow down the Panthers' high-powered offense, which has been one of the most potent in the NHL this season. The Panthers lead the league in goals per game (4.14) and shots per game (35.5).
The Bruins, meanwhile, will need to find a way to generate more offense of their own. They managed just one goal in Game 1, and they'll need to be more productive in order to win Game 2.
