Zach Arnett, the former defensive coordinator for Mississippi State, has been hired as the head coach for Auburn University. Arnett, who was brought in by the late Mike Leach in 2020, led the Bulldogs to a top-five defensive unit during his tenure.

Arnett's only immediate connection to Auburn is through Athletic Director John Cohen. Cohen, who was previously the Athletic Director at Mississippi State, worked closely with Arnett during their time together in Starkville.
